WHY THIS WORK MATTERS

It started
close to home.

Before physical therapy became her profession, Marisa saw its impact in her own family.

Marisa grew up helping her brother, who has spina bifida, and seeing the progress he made with physical therapy at home. Watching his therapist work with him showed her how meaningful that care could be for a person and their family.

Those experiences helped inspire her path into physical therapy and her appreciation for care delivered at home.

Helping women discover their options

Marisa was drawn to pelvic health when she realized how many people did not know they could seek help for their symptoms. She wanted to reach women who had assumed pelvic concerns were simply something they had to live with.

At Healix, that starts with making room for the conversation: what you’re experiencing, how it affects your life, and what you hope to get back to.

BEYOND THE APPOINTMENT

A mom. A military spouse.
Your Panhandle neighbor.

Marisa has worked in Fort Walton Beach and surrounding Panhandle communities since 2020. At home, she’s a mom of two, an avid reader, and a beach volleyball player whenever she can find the time.

As a military spouse whose family also uses TRICARE, she brings personal familiarity with navigating that insurance to her work with local families.

Healix is authorized to treat TRICARE patients as an out-of-network provider and also offers cash-based care.
